Fishing Tour in the Axios Delta: A Unique Experience in Nature and Tradition
We begin our day early in the morning, where we welcome you with a traditional Greek coffee, carefully prepared with great attention. As we enjoy our warm drink, our gaze drifts towards the mesmerizing view. The sun rises slowly over the waters, and the landscape comes to life. It’s the perfect moment to connect with nature and prepare for the authentic experience that follows.
After our coffee, we embark on our excursion with the traditional fishing boat, for a true fishing adventure. As we glide through the calm waters of the Delta, we’ll have the opportunity to observe the rare birds that inhabit the area, such as kingfishers, pelicans, flamingos, and many other water organisms. The natural beauty of the landscape and the tranquility of the surroundings create a unique atmosphere, combining relaxation with a deep connection to nature.
Our fishing is done in the traditional way, with respect for the environment that has hosted our family for three generations. The fishing process is not only an act of search but also a commitment to protecting the nature and local ecosystems. Once we catch the fish, they will become our meal, which we will prepare using a traditional recipe, always with respect for the flavors of the region.
After our fishing activity, we take a stroll to clean the fish, and then head towards the fishermen’s cabins, where we will prepare our meal and, of course, enjoy our raki. Together, we participate in preparing and enjoying the fresh fish, savoring the camaraderie and authenticity of the tradition.
Our excursion is ideal for groups of up to 8 people, so that we can enjoy the experience in a friendly and intimate setting. Additionally, both the fishermen’s cabins and the boat are equipped with restrooms for the convenience of participants. We also offer the option of a 2-hour trip for birdwatching and photography of the Delta’s stunning landscape and rare birds.
